Now available in Technicolor!

Well...You get a double dose for the first day. Wondering why?? that's right, because it's horrific outside, and I've spent most of the day huddled on the couch under a blanket, surfing the internet...
I'm not super proud of this, however, I did have a mildly productive day sometime after the "Tornado Watch!!!" was lifted (I think they over dramatized, just a bit..), the skies parted for the afternoon and I promptly played operation with my bike parts, until I had something resembling my red stallion (bread basket included), and went for some air. when I walked out onto the beach and sat in the sun (which was then out), I had a strange urge to keep checking that it was still there...like it was going to go away at any moment. I was quite wary of trusting the gaseous life giving sphere...it seemed so odd to think that he and I might see more than 3 months of each other a year, like the weekend daddy you only saw intermittently throughout your childhood, and thus are cautious to depend on now that he's around all the time and says he's changed. terribly unnerving. After that, I biked down to a large pier (Balboa), and took a stroll to the end. The wind was up and carried ocean spray from the 30ft waves into my face, as they exploded on the pylons, rolling in droves. The ever present sun rained down precious precious vitamin D, and a little 50's diner, called Rubys', blasted dixieland jazz out it's loudspeakers on the end of the pier through the whipping gale. Looking up and down the coast on either side of me, watching the throngs of bright green palms bend, it was then that I thought "oh shit. I'm in California...I live here now. hmm. That is most agreeable." and I felt like I'd been seeing monochrome for so long that color in the sky, and the waves was brand spanking new to me. Probably how people felt seeing technicolor for the first time, back in the 1990's or whenever. It felt refreshing to say the least.
Tomorrow is another day, and after carefully deciphering the cluster-fuck that is L.A. public transit maps...I put together a route for going to the bright lights, big city tomorrow for a scouting mission.
